My name is Mai Julie Her, and I go by Julie. I am a HMoob culture and language consultant deeply committed to sustaining the HMoob language—including both White/Dawb and Green/Leeg/Ntsuab dialects—and honoring its use across generations. This commitment has guided my life’s work and led me to invest over a decade working directly with HMoob communities in California, Minnesota, and across the United States.
Grounded in my professional and lived experiences, I bring expertise in public speaking, digital media, curriculum development, and HMoob arts. Through this interdisciplinary approach, I develop culturally relevant stories, workflows, and messages that reflect HMoob community values and lived realities. I have partnered with schools, nonprofits, government agencies, and businesses to help them engage HMoob communities with cultural respect, care, and intention.
