My name is Mai Julie Her, and I go by Julie. I am an educator and HMoob culture and language consultant based in the United States.
As both a professional and a parent, I am deeply committed to sustaining the HMoob language and honoring its use across generations. This commitment has guided my life’s work and led me to invest over a decade working directly within the HMoob community in California and across the country.
My background in academia; fluency across multiple HMoob dialects (including White/dawb and Green/leeg/ntsuab); public speaking; digital media; curriculum development; and HMoob dance allows me to craft culturally relevant stories and messages. Through this work, I have helped connect schools, nonprofits, government agencies, businesses, and community members with the Hmong-speaking world in culturally respectful and meaningful ways.
I welcome the opportunity to collaborate on your language and storytelling projects and would be happy to discuss how I can support your needs. Share your project today.
